AFRICAN PUBLIC SERVICE DAY (APSD)
The African Public Service Day (APSD) is a special open day for Public/Civil Servants and Public Service Organizations across the African Union (AU) Member States which is celebrated on 23rd June of every year to mark and recognize the role of public servants and public sector organizations for their positive contribution and benefits to population, civil society, private and national development efforts.
The Government of the Republic of Namibia adopted 23 June as the National Public Service Day since 2007. The aim of the Celebration is to recognize the value and virtue of service to the community, serve as a platform for Public and Civil Service to mark and recognize the role of public servants and public sector organizations and their positive contribution and benefits to communities, civil society and private sector in particular and generally to their contribution in national development efforts.
It furthers provides Public Servant with an opportunity to promote and demonstrate values such as responsiveness, accessibility, accountability, professionalism, ethics and performance in the delivery of public service.

This year, the Office of the Prime Minister is hosting the 2024 Africa Public Service Day Celebration(APSD) at NIPAM, Windhoek, Khomas Region, on 26th-28th June 2024 under the theme: “"Main Theme:"Empowering a Citizen-Centric Public Service for an Inclusive and Thriving 21st Century Africa: A Journey of Lifelong Learning and Technological Transformation”. .”
